HOUSTON, TX (February 21, 2023) – Monday, a man died in a pedestrian crash on Interstate 45 Gulf Freeway near Griggs Road.

The incident happened around midnight on Interstate 45 Gulf Freeway near Griggs Road.

According to reports, a man tried to cross the freeway. However, a driver in a White Nissan hit him.

The impact caused the pedestrian to flip over the vehicle. Then, a second vehicle hit him.

When the paramedics with the Houston Fire Department arrived, they declared the man dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, officers confirmed that the driver of the Nissan showed signs of intoxication. Thus, authorities took him into custody, HPD added.

The Harris County District Attorney’s Office hasn’t disclosed whether charges will be filed.
