One Fatally Injured after Victorville Pedestrian Crash on Amargosa Road
VICTORVILLE, CA (July 22, 2019) — A 39-year-old man died after a pedestrian crash on Amargosa Road on Friday, July 19.
At around 11:44 p.m., the pedestrian collision happened near the intersection of Amargosa Road and Luna Road.In addition, deputies from the Victorville Station and rescue personnel from the Victorville Fire Department responded to the scene.
Responding officers found out that a white 2003 Ford Expedition traveled southbound on Amargosa Road. After that, the vehicle struck a white male adult that stepped out in front of it.
The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries. However, the driver of the Ford and the two passengers were not hurt. As a result, they stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.
Officers shut down Amargosa Road in both directions for several hours during the investigation. However, all lanes reopened at around 5:55 a.m.
The identity of the victim was not yet released pending notification of his loved ones.
The Victorville City Major Accident Investigation Team is continuing the investigation of the pedestrian incident.
