47-Year-Old Cherry Valley Man Fatally Struck by Three Vehicles on Elm Street
CABAZON, CA (May 23, 2018) – A man was killed in a pedestrian collision on Bonita Avenue, early Wednesday morning. Three vehicles reportedly struck the unidentified pedestrian while he was crossing outside of a crosswalk.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal collision happened around 12:14 AM at the intersection of Bonita Avenue and Elm Street. The 47-year-old Cherry Valley man was crossing outside a sidewalk, dressed in dark clothing in an unlit area, when a 1999 Dodge Ram struck him.
After getting knocked down by the Dodge, two other vehicles struck him. The second vehicle was a 2006 Honda Civic, and the third vehicle was a gray sedan. The pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene of the collision by emergency responders.
Drivers of the Dodge and Honda stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities during their investigation. But, the third driver took off after hitting the pedestrian, fleeing from the scene. There is no description of the driver at this time.
