San Diego Pedestrian Crash on Route 94 Kills 1
SAN DIEGO, CA (July 27, 2020) – Sunday morning, a man died in a pedestrian accident on Route 94 in the Oak Park area.
According to reports, the man was running across Route 94 when a Dodge van hit him just after midnight.
As a result, the unidentified pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Meanwhile, the van driver remained uninjured.
Due to the crash, the California Highway Patrol shut down the westbound lanes of the freeway at Kelton Road. The lanes remained close for around one hour while crews investigate at the scene.
The surrounding area on Route 94 was closed off for a brief time during cleanup and preliminary duties. However, the roadway has since reopened to traffic.
Moreover, the crash remains under investigation.

Deadly Pedestrian Accidents in California
While car accidents are far more common than pedestrian accidents, there is still reason to be wary when traveling on foot.
Common locations for these pedestrian incidents include shopping center entrances and street corners, but even freeways as well.
“Pedestrian accidents do not occur as much as motor vehicle accidents, but the pedestrian accidents tend to include more serious injuries,” says Tyler Toomey, a practicing attorney at Sweet Lawyers.
