1 Dead in Lancaster Pedestrian Crash on Avenue K and Stanridge Avenue

 
LANCASTER, CA (April 9, 2021) – Monday afternoon, a man died in a pedestrian accident on Avenue K and Stanridge Avenue.
 
According to reports, the incident occurred at about 4:11 p.m. According to the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station, the incident happened near the intersection of Avenue K and Stanridge Avenue.
 
Reports confirmed that as the man walked south across Avenue K, an eastbound Volkswagen Jetta on Avenue K hit him.
 
As a result, the man suffered critical injuries and was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital. However, he later succumbed to his injuries.
 
His identity remains undisclosed due to pending family notification, said the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office.
 
“The cause of the collision is still being investigated. Speed does not appear to be a factor in the collision. It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs played a role,” a report said.
 
Also, the authorities urged anyone with information about the crash to call traffic investigators at the Lancaster Sheriff‘s Station at 661-948-8466.
