Unidentified Man Dead in Barstow Pedestrian Accident
BARSTOW, CA (April 26, 2020) – A 43-year-old Las Vegas man died in a pedestrian accident on 15 Freeway on April 16.
At this time, the identity of the deceased remains unreleased. According to the officials’ report, the man was traveling south on 15 Freeway in a 2002 Hyundai Elantra. However, for reasons still unidentified, his car was disabled in the center median.
The California Highway Patrol added that at around 9:53 p.m., the male driver went off his car. At the same time, a 23-year-old Porterville woman was driving a Chevy Camaro in the #1 lane. The woman’s path was just north of the man’s disabled car.
“For reasons still under investigation, the male pedestrian attempted to cross the southbound lanes of I-15 and was struck by the Chevy Camaro in the #1 lane,” the release stated.
Following the accident, the female driver pulled over along the shoulder and reported the incident to 911.
When the emergency medical personnel arrived, they pronounced the pedestrian dead on the scene.
Meanwhile, the California Highway Patrol do not suspect that alcohol and/or drugs were factors in the accident.
