1 Dead in Placer County Accident on Interstate 80 and Douglas Boulevard
PLACER COUNTY, CA (March 11, 2021) – Wednesday, a man died in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 and Douglas Boulevard.
According to CHP Sgt. Pellegrino, a Mazda driver spun out when it approached Interstate 80 from the Douglas Boulevard onramp.
Afterward, the Mazda struck one car in the slow lane and continued spinning on Interstate 80. Then, a third vehicle in the faster lanes T-boned the Mazda, said Sgt. Pellegrino.
As a result, a man succumbed to injuries at the scene.
The authorities confirmed that no other drivers required hospitalization.
Due to the crash, Caltrans issued a traffic alert and advised motorists to expect delays near Douglas Boulevard.
The incident blocked three out of four lanes on westbound Interstate 80. However, the road has since reopened.
