86-Year-Old Man Killed in Redding Motorcycle Accident on Airport Road
REDDING, CA (August 27, 2019) – An 86-year-old man died following a pickup truck and motorcycle crash on Airport Road on Friday, August 23.
The CHP said the fatal crash happened at Airport Road just north of Charlanne Drive.
The incident caused the motorcycle to catch fire, the CHP report stated.
Bystanders gave CPR to the motorcycle driver, who was down in the roadway. A coroner later arrived at the scene.
According to the California Highway Patrol, paramedics rushed the 55-year-old male driver of the pickup truck to Mercy Medical Center for precautionary measures.
Neither of the parties’ identities has been released.
Authorities shut down both lanes of Airport Road.
The cause of the incident is still unknown and under investigation by the CHP.
