1 Dead in La Mesa Motorcycle Accident on Highway 125
LA MESA, CA (January 16, 2020) – A 31-year-old man died in a motorcycle accident on Highway 125 on January 13.
According to reports, the rider died after crashing his bike into some slow-moving cars while weaving in and out of lanes on a congested stretch of Highway 125.
According to reports, the 31-year-old Lemon Grove man rode north at high speed, driving between vehicles amid stop-and-go traffic. However, his 2013 Suzuki GW250 sideswiped a 2012 Dodge Challenger near Spring Street in La Mesa shortly before 7:30 a.m.
The motorcycle then struck the rear of a 2014 Toyota Corolla and crashed to the ground, throwing off the motorcyclist on the road, CHP public-affairs Officer Travis Garrow revealed. The authorities also confirmed that the rider wore a helmet at the time of the crash.
Medical responders transported the motorcyclist to Sharp Memorial Hospital in San Diego, where he later died of his injuries. His identity remains unreleased due to pending family notification.
