Driver Dies after Two-Vehicle Crash on North Union Road near Louise Avenue
MANTECA, CA (August 27, 2019) – A man lost his life in a two-vehicle crash on North Union Road, Tuesday evening. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the Manteca Police Department, the incident happened at about 8:20 PM.
Witnesses claim that a truck attempted to make a turn when a speeding vehicle crashed into it. Preliminary investigations indicate that the vehicle did not appear to have attempted to brake before hitting the truck.
Unfortunately, the driver of the passenger vehicle died at the scene. Meanwhile, emergency responders transported two children inside the vehicle to a hospital as a precaution. It is unknown whether or not the truck driver sustained injuries in the crash.
The Manteca Police Department continues to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
