Train and Car Collides on 29th Avenue in Oakland Killing One
OAKLAND, CA (January 19, 2020) – A man was killed following a collision with a train Wednesday evening in Oakland.
The crash happened just before 9:00 p.m. in the 1200 block of 29th Avenue at 12th Street.
CHP officials responded to the scene and located a severely damaged vehicle several yards east of the intersection. A male occupant was inside the vehicle.
Oakland firefighters also responded and extricated the man. Sadly, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to witnesses, the vehicle was struck by an Amtrak train for unknown reasons.
Further details, including the identity of the victim, were not immediately available. The crash remains under investigations.
