Father Dies, 2 Teens Seriously Injured in Rollover Crash on 5 Freeway
BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 10, 2019) – A man was killed following rollover crash early Saturday morning on 5 Freeway.
The crash took place at 12:00 a.m. near Stockdale Highway.
CHP officials said a Chevrolet Suburban carrying a family of five had rolled over and landed on the center divider. The 21-year-old driver drifted into the divider and attempted to regain control causing the rollover.
Three people were thrown from the Suburban, including the 47-year-old father who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two teens, a 13 and 15-year-old, were taken to a hospital with moderate to major injuries. It’s still unknown why the driver drifted into the divider.
Further investigation is underway.
