37-Year-Old Male Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Car on Story Road in San Jose
SAN JOSE, CA (December 7, 2019) – A man was killed in a pedestrian crash Saturday evening in East San Jose, police said.
The fatal crash happened around 10:09 p.m. on Story Road near Karl Street.
According to authorities, a 37-year-old male pedestrian was walking in traffic lanes when a black Hyundai sedan heading eastbound struck him.
Paramedics arrived on the scene and took the man to a local hospital, where the victim was pronounced dead a short time later, according to a statement issued by San Jose police early Sunday.
The identity of the pedestrian was not immediately available pending family notification.
The driver of the Hyundai remained in the area and cooperated with the police investigation.
Neither the driver nor the only passenger, both men, were injured.
Police said drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash.
