61-Year-Old Antioch Man Dies after Crashing His Motorcycle with a Sedan on Highway 4 in Pittsburg
PITTSBURG, CA (June 11, 2019) – A 61-year-old Antioch man was killed following a motorcycle crash Tuesday afternoon in Pittsburg.
The crash happened around 2:18 p.m., on westbound Highway 4. Dispatchers arrived just between Loveridge Road and Somersville Road shortly after.
Contra Costa County firefighters found a motorcycle rider down in the middle lanes of the highway upon arrival. CPR was performed on the male victim, however he eventually succumbed to his injuries. His name has not yet been released pending family notification.
It was later determined that a silver BMW sedan collided with a Harley-Davidson motorcycle for unknown reasons. The impact consequently ejected the rider onto the roadway.
The male driver of the BMW remained uninjured. He also stayed on scene for the investigation.
It is currently unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs were a contributing factor in the crash.
