Rider Dies after Crashing Down Embankment on Highway 180 in Fresno
FRESNO, CA (July 13, 2019) – A man was killed in a motorcycle accident Saturday morning on a highway on-ramp crash in southeast Fresno.
The crash happened around 7:44 a.m. on westbound Highway 180 at Clovis Avenue off-ramp.
The man was riding a three-wheeler Harley-Davidson motorcycle, traveling down an on-ramp from southbound Clovis Avenue onto the westbound direction of the highway.
As the rider tried to navigate the turn, he made a sudden turn to the left. His motorcycle overturned and went down the dirt embankment, according to the CHP.
The rider was ejected from his bike onto the pavement of Highway 180.
Responding officers immediately performed CPR on him and paramedics rushed him to Community Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. He was not publicly identified.
It is unknown if drugs and/or alcohol have played a role in the crash. The CHP is still investigating the incident.
