1 Dead and 1 Hospitalized in Motorcycle Crash on Highway 138 near Hess Road
PHELAN, CA (July 28, 2019) – A man died in a motorcycle crash on Highway 138, late Sunday morning. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 10:51 AM. Due to unknown reasons, a white older-model Dodge van and a black motorcycle collided near Hess Road.
Emergency responders pronounced the rider deceased at the scene. Meanwhile, an ambulance transported the unidentified van driver to Loma Linda University Medical Center as a precaution. No other injuries were reported by authorities.
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal crash. Investigators will release additional information to the public once it becomes available.
