21-Year-Old Motorcyclist Dies after Crash with Pickup Truck in Visalia
VISALIA, CA (May 30, 2019) – A man was killed after crashing his motorcycle into a pickup truck Thursday morning in Visalia.
The collision happened around 7:15 a.m., at the intersection of Avenue 309 and Highway 216. Dispatchers arrived near Cutler Park shortly after.
According to reports, a female driving a pickup truck was making a left turn onto eastbound Highway 216, when a westbound motorcycle struck her.
The woman identified as Mary Taylor, allegedly violated the motorcycle’s right of way during her left turn. The rider, a 21-year-old Visalia man, tried to avoid the pickup before he crashed.
The man was ejected and suffered major injuries as a result. He was transported to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for further treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries on his way to the hospital.
The victim was wearing a helmet but was unlicensed and did not have a motorcycle endorsement.
Taylor was not injured.
The crash currently remains under investigation at this time.
