Police Unit Involved in Galveston County Fatal Accident on FM 1765 and FM 2004
GALVESTON COUNTY, TX (March 20, 2023) – Saturday night, a man died in a major crash on FM 1765 and FM 2004.
The fatal collision occurred around 10:11 p.m. at the intersection of FM 1765 and FM 2004 in Galveston County.
Moreover, the incident involved a white Honda Fit carrying two passengers and a Texas City police unit.
According to reports, the white Honda Fit was heading north on FM-2004. Then, it collided with the Texas City police unit, which was heading west at FM-1764.
According to reports, the Texas City officer was responding to a call for assistance from the La Marque Police Department.
All three individuals involved were transported to area hospitals. While Life Flight was initially called, it was later reported to have been canceled.

Meanwhile, the officer was driven by a police unit, while the Honda passengers were transported by ambulance. Sadly, the driver of the Honda, a man in his 70s, was pronounced dead at HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland Medical Center in Texas City.
The woman passenger in the Honda was taken to the trauma center at UTMB Health John Sealy Hospital, where she was initially in critical condition.
As of Sunday, she is reportedly in stable condition, according to Major Ray Nolen of the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office. Also, the Texas City officer was taken to Mainland Medical Center and later released after being treated for minor injuries, as per Texas City Assistant Police Chief Landis Cravens.
The Galveston County Sheriff’s Office and Galveston County District Attorney’s Office are currently investigating the incident. Officials have not yet determined who was at fault for the collision.
