Man Killed in Head-On Crash on Jackson Highway [Sacramento, CA]

1 Dead and 1 Injured in Head-On Crash on Jackson Highway near Florin Perkins Road

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (August 2, 2019) – A man died in a head-on crash on Jackson Highway, Friday morning. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Florin Perkins Road, at about 6:00 AM. Due to unknown reasons, an eastbound black truck crossed into the westbound lane. There, the vehicle collided head-on with a white van.
 
Unfortunately, the driver of the white van suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Meanwhile, emergency responders rushed a man in the black truck to a nearby hospital with unspecified injuries. His condition remains unknown.
 
It is unknown whether or not charges will be filed against the surviving driver. Authorities will release additional information following the conclusion of the investigation.
