Afternoon Head-On Crash on Twin Cities Road Kills One and Injures Another
HERALD, CA (September 18, 2019) – A man was killed following a head-on crash Wednesday afternoon in a rural Sacramento County.
The crash happened around 1:45 p.m. on Highway 104, also known as Twin Cities Road, at Clay Station Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2000 Infiniti drifted over double yellow lines and collided head-on into a 2018 Subaru. The impact caused one of the vehicles to overturn on the right shoulder.
As a result, the driver of Infiniti, a 51-year-old Roseville man, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Meanwhile, paramedics transported the Subaru driver, a 63 year old Sacramento woman, to a local hospital with moderate injuries.
Highway 104 was closed in both directions for approximately three hours while officers at the scene investigated.
It is unknown at this time if alcohol/drugs were a factor in the crash. The identity of the deceased will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin is notified.
