Pickup Truck and Van Collide Head-On in Sacramento Killing One of the Drivers
SACRAMENTO, CA (August 2, 2019) – A man died following a head-on crash on Jackson Road Friday morning in Sacramento, police said.
The crash happened around 6:10 a.m. at the intersection of Jackson Road and Florin Perkins Road. Authorities said a black Ford pickup truck traveled eastbound on Jackson Road when for unknown reasons, it crossed into the westbound lane, colliding head-on with a white van.
The man driving the van died as a result of the crash, according to police. His name has not yet been released pending family notification.
The male driver of the Ford truck was taken to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
Traffic along Highway 86 moved slowly. Two-way traffic control was in effect in the area.
It is unknown if charges has been filed and liability has not yet been determined. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
