SUV and Pickup Truck Collide Head-On in Olivehurst Killing One Motorist
OLIVEHURST, CA (June 11, 2019) – A man was killed following a head-on crash at Feather River Boulevard Tuesday afternoon, in Olivehurst.
The crash happened just before 3:00 p.m. near the intersection of Feather River Boulevard and Virginia Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Scion SUV was traveling south on Feather River Boulevard when it veered into the northbound lanes for unknown reasons. An oncoming Chevrolet pickup truck had no time to react before the two vehicles collided head-on as a result.
The male driver of the Scion was pronounced dead at the scene due to the impact of the collision. However, his identity has not yet been released pending notification of his family members.
Furthermore, the driver of the pickup truck suffered major injuries while his passenger suffered minor injuries. Both parties were transported to a local hospital for further treatment and evaluation.
It is currently unknown if drugs and/or alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. Further investigation is still underway at this time.
