Man Killed in Fiery Crash on Fletcher Parkway at Navajo Road [EL CAJON, CA]

SUV Crashes into Tree and Catches Fire on Fletcher Parkway Killing the Driver

 
EL CAJON, CA (October 4, 2019) – A man was killed following a fiery crash early Friday morning in El Cajon, according to police.
 
The crash happened around 2:20 a.m. in the center median of Fletcher Parkway, just south of Navajo Road. Police and firefighters responded to the scene and found a 2019 Nissan Kicks SUV engulfed in flames.
 
A preliminary investigation revealed that the SUV was heading westbound on Fletcher Parkway. For unknown reasons, it drifted onto a raised center divider and struck a tree before catching fire.
 
Firefighters doused the flames and found the driver dead inside the vehicle. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
No other vehicles were believed to be involved and the cause remains under investigation. It was not clear if drugs or alcohol were contributing factors.
