Speeding Pickup Truck Catches Fire on 8 Freeway in Boulevard Killing the Driver
BOULEVARD, CA (June 2, 2019) – A man was killed following a fiery crash on 8 Freeway early Sunday morning, at Crestwood Road.
To begin, the accident happened just after 4:00 a.m., on westbound 8 Freeway. Dispatchers arrived near the Crestwood Road off-ramp shortly after.
According to reports, a Toyota Tundra was traveling at a high rate of speed when it eventually began drifting. After crashing head-on into the metal guardrail lining the median, the Toyota overturned and consequently caught fire as a result.
Furthermore, the male driver was ejected from the vehicle upon impact. He was also found underneath the vehicle’s rear bed, and was later pronounced dead on scene due to the impact of the collision.
No highway lanes were blocked following the accident because the vehicle landed on Crestwood Road, under the westbound lanes of the highway.
Due to extensive fire wounds, the victim currently remains unidentified.
