Big Rig and Sedan Involved in Deadly Fiery Crash on 215 Freeway in Colton
COLTON, CA (October 26, 2019) – A man died in a fiery crash Saturday morning on 215 Freeway in Colton, authorities said.
The crash happened around 5:15 a.m. along the southbound lanes of the freeway at La Cadena Drive.
According to an initial report, a sedan collided with a tractor-trailer and caught fire. A witness said the car did not appear to slow down before becoming wedged beneath the trailer.
Riverside firefighters extinguished the flames and found the driver trapped inside the sedan. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The right lane of the freeway was closed until 7:30 a.m. for the investigation.
No identifying information is being released at this time.
