Passenger Dies after Truck Crashes into Building on 10 Freeway in Calimesa
CALIMESA, CA (December 3, 2019) – A man died following a traffic accident involving a box truck Tuesday night in Calimesa.
The fatal crash happened around 6:04 p.m. on 10 Freeway at County Line Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Ford box truck was traveling westbound when for unknown reasons, it went off the roadway and collided into a chain-link fence. After the impact, the truck continued northwest and slammed into a building.
As a result, the passenger in the truck died at the scene. Authorities only identified the victim as a 54-year-old Yucaipa man.
The driver of the truck, 53-year-old Thomas Patrick Michaud, also from Yucaipa, only sustained minor injuries.
