Fatal Early Morning Crash on Napa Road in Sonoma
SONOMA, CA (August 19, 2019) – A 50-year-old Sonoma man was killed in a crash early Monday morning in Sonoma, the California Highway Patrol said.
The man was driving a 2012 Nissan Rogue west on Napa Road between Hyde Road and 8th Street around 12:20 a.m.
According to the CHP, the Nissan drifted off the road, struck a mailbox and trash can before striking a concrete culvert in a drainage ditch.
As a result, the driver died at the scene. The Sonoma County coroner’s office has not yet released the victim’s name pending next of kin notification.
No further injuries have been reported.
Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
