1 Dead in Moorpark Pedestrian Accident on Highway 118 and Montair Drive

MOORPARK, CA (June 26, 2024) – Sunday night, a man died in a brutal hit-and-run crash on Highway 118 and Montair Drive.

At about 11:00 p.m., the authorities received a report of a body being found on the side of Highway 118, west of Montair Drive.

Officers arrived to find a man with serious injuries, according to the CHP. Despite fire personnel’s attempts to perform life-saving measures, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities identified the deceased as an 88-year-old man from Moorpark, though his name has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

The CHP determined that the man had been struck by a vehicle based on his injuries, physical evidence, and witness accounts. Witnesses described the vehicle as a large, dark-colored pickup truck, that drove westbound without stopping after the crash.
