Bicyclist Fatally Struck by Commercial Truck on North Azusa Avenue
AZUSA, CA (January 27, 2020) – A man was killed in a bicycle crash Monday afternoon in Azusa, police said.
The crash happened around 1:27 p.m. outside of Max’s Mexican Cuisine in the 600 block of North Azusa Avenue near Sixth Street.
According to police, a 65-year-old bicyclist from West Covina was struck by a commercial box truck. The impact caused serious injuries to the bicyclist.
Paramedics rushe dhim to an area trauma center, where he later died. His name was not immediately available.
The crash closed a stretch of North Azusa Avenue near Sixth Street for about 8 and a half hours.
The Azusa Police Department Traffic Division is investigating this fatal incident.
