1 Dead in Modesto Pedestrian Crash on McHenry Avenue and Leveland Lane

 
MODESTO, CA (August 10, 2021) – Sunday night, a 55-year-old man died in a hit-and-run accident on McHenry Avenue and Leveland Lane.
 
The incident happened at about 9:00 p.m. when a pickup struck the 55-year-old man. Moreover, it happened on McHenry Avenue, north of Leveland Lane, stated Modesto Police officer Nicole Valker.
 
Valker confirmed that as the man walked in the roadway, a white pickup struck him. Then, the vehicle drove away, heading south on McHenry Avenue.
 
After the crash, responders took the pedestrian to a Modesto hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. At this time, the authorities withhold the identity of the deceased due to pending family notification.
 
Also, Valker noted that the authorities found a bicycle involved in the crash. However, they are still investigating whether the man rode it or walked it.
