Man Killed in Highway 101 Accident [Gaviota, CA]

Gaviota, CA (August 16, 2024) – A man was fatally injured in a Highway 101 accident Thursday afternoon.

It was about 12:30 p.m. when the collision happened on the southbound highway near Dos Pueblos Canyon.

CHP said the victim was  trying to get into a vehicle that was parked along the shoulder of the road when he was side swiped by a passing vehicle.

 Bystanders performed CPR on the pedestrian before the rescuers arrived, but the man declared dead at the scene.
