MADERA COUNTY, CA (December 20, 2020) – Saturday afternoon, a man died in a head-on crash on Highway 145 and Avenue 9 1/2.
The incident took place at around 12:30 p.m. on Highway 145 north of Avenue 9 1/2.
According to reports, a crash drove across the opposing traffic, causing a head-on crash and then catching fire. As a result, four people, including both drivers, sustained major injuries.
Meanwhile, the authorities are withholding the identity of the 30-year-old man who died due to pending family notification.
Reports confirmed that a Fresno woman drove a Lexus RX300 with two passengers northbound on Highway 145 at about 55 mph. Meanwhile, a Chevrolet Cruze entered south. Then, it drove across the double yellow lines into the opposing lane and crashed with the Lexus.
Afterward, the Lexus spun clockwise and stopped on the east shoulder. Meanwhile, the Chevrolet stopped on the east side of the road and had caught fire.
A man occupying the Lexus died at the scene. Meanwhile, the driver and another woman from Reedley were transported to Community Regional Medical Center.
Moreover, responders transported the Chevrolet driver, 19-year-old Parminder Singh, and his 23-year-old passenger to CRMC. Both of them came from Kerman.
At this time, the authorities do not believe that alcohol and drugs played a role.
