Man Dead in Brentwood Car Accident
BRENTWOOD, CA (May 7, 2019) – A 51-year-old man died in a DUI car accident on Highway 4, east of Balfour Road on May 6.
The head-on crash between a Honda SUV and Toyota Corolla occurred at 4:34 p.m. The police revealed that the Honda crossed the solid double yellow lines and into oncoming traffic. This action resulted in a head-on crash with Toyota.
Meanwhile, authorities identified the suspect driver of the Honda as a Concord resident. He didn’t sustain any injuries in the collision.
However, the Toyota driver from Ripon died at the scene.
The collision blocked both directions of Highway 4 for several hours while crews worked at the scene. By 6:25 p.m., Highway 4 have since reopened.
According authorities, a 46-year-old man was arrested for possible felony DUI. Authorities are encouraging anyone who saw the crash to call Contra Costa CHP in Martinez at 925-646-4980.
