1 Dead in West Athens Pedestrian Accident on Vermont Avenue and 120th Street
WEST ATHENS, CA (May 25, 2022) – Early Tuesday morning, a man died in a hit-and-run crash on Vermont Avenue and 120th Street.
The incident happened just after 3:00 a.m. on Vermont Avenue and 120th Street.
Members of the LA County Coroner’s office, the medical examiner’s office, and CHP officers responded to the scene in West Athens just after 6:00 a.m.
Upon their arrival, they found a wheelchair on the sidewalk near the victim. At this time, the authorities believe that the victim of the hit-and-run was in a wheelchair when the crash happened. However, they have not yet confirmed that information.
Also, the identity of the deceased remains undisclosed due to pending family notification.
Moreover, the authorities haven’t confirmed whether the victim was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk when the crash happened.
Furthermore, the crash shut down lanes on Vermont during the investigation, but they have since reopened.
