SAN YSIDRO, CA (October 31, 2021) – Saturday morning, a 78-year-old man died in a crash on State Route 905 near Beyer Boulevard.
 
The incident happened at around 6:45 a.m. on westbound State Route 905 near Beyer Boulevard.
 
According to reports, a Chevy pickup towed a small fishing boat. However, something happened and the driver pulled to the side while the trailer partially blocked the slow lane. Then, CHP Officer Salvador Castro confirmed that the victim went out and tried to fix the issue. However, a Honda CRV hit the trailer which impacted the male victim.
 
The impact sent the Chevy into a guardrail. Then, the truck went over the edge as the boat fell to the street.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities confirmed that a 78-year-old San Diego man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His identity remains undisclosed as of this time.
 
On the other hand, the Honda driver has been cooperative with the investigation.
 
Furthermore, the authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Authorities don’t suspect drugs or alcohol were involved.
