Jaywalker Dead in Pierce County Pedestrian Accident on State Route 7 and 100th Street

 
PIERCE COUNTY, WA (April 24, 2022) – Friday night, a man died in a pedestrian crash on State Route 7 and 100th Street.
 
The incident happened just after 11:00 p.m. on northbound State Route 7, north of 100th Street.
 
According to reports, a vehicle struck and killed a male jaywalker. When authorities arrived, they located the victim and transported him to a nearby hospital. However, he later succumbed to his injuries early Saturday morning.
 
Moreover, the troopers and the Washington State Department of Transportation Tacoma shut down the northbound lanes. Just before 1:00 a.m., officials reopened the lanes.
 
Reports confirmed that the man stood in the middle of the lane when the crash happened. After the collision, the driver stopped in a nearby parking lot and waited for the first responders.
 
Meanwhile, authorities confirmed that jaywalking played a role in the crash. However, they ruled out drugs and alcohol.
 
At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed the identity of the deceased.
