1 Dead in Houston Auto Accident on South Sam Houston Toll Road West
HOUSTON, TX (March 6, 2023) – Sunday morning, a man died in a two-vehicle crash on South Sam Houston Toll Road West.
The incident happened at around 2:05 a.m. at 11700 South Sam Houston Toll Road West on the eastbound lanes.
According to reports, a driver of a gray 2020 Toyota Rav4 struck the barrier of the toll road. Then, it veered into traffic and drove across multiple lanes.
After the crash, the driver of a 1991 Chevy pickup truck struck the Toyota after trying to stop.
Then, the suspect driver attempted to break the window of the Toyota to help the driver. However, the vehicle caught fire.
As a result, the Toyota driver succumbed to injuries at the scene.
At this time, the authorities haven’t clarified whether he died as a result of the crash or of the fire.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation. Once additional details become available, the public will be notified.
