SAN DIEGO, CA (November 10, 2022) – Wednesday morning, a man died in a pedestrian crash on Interstate 805 in Mission Valley.
 
The incident occurred before 4:50 a.m. on Interstate 805 bridge in Mission Valley.
 
According to reports, a 41-year-old woman driving a Chrysler sedan struck a man walking within the traffic lanes. Then, the crash threw the pedestrian off the bridge.
 
San Diego Fire-Rescue Department fire crews and lifeguard units responded. Eventually, they found the body in the river channel about 25 yards north of the impact site on the freeway.
 
Meanwhile, the driver stopped at the crash scene and has been cooperative with the investigation. At this time, the authorities do not suspect that the woman was impaired by alcohol or drugs.
 
Furthermore, the Medical Examiner’s Office will run toxicology tests. They want to find out whether the pedestrian was under the influence of alcohol or drugs during the crash.
