1 Dead and Several Hurt in Phoenix Accident on Interstate 17 and Grant Street
PHOENIX, AZ (January 13, 2022) – Wednesday night, a man died in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 17 and Grant Street.
The incident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. on Interstate 17 near Grant Street. According to Phoenix police Sgt. Andy Williams, the incident involved a tractor-trailer.
“Officers learned a Chevy SUV was eastbound on Grant Street. Then, it collided with a Tractor Trailer that was Northbound on the I-17 Frontage Road. The adult male passenger of the Chevy sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene,” Williams added.
Meanwhile, the SUV’s female driver sustained some injuries but is expected to be OK. Apparently, she may have failed to yield at the red light – potentially causing the crash.
Meanwhile, the two occupants of the tractor-trailer are also expected to be OK.
