PASO ROBLES, CA (July 6, 2022) – Tuesday night, a 54-year-old man died in a high-speed crash on Highway 101 and South Spring Street.
 
The incident occurred at about 7:04 p.m. on Highway 101 near the South Spring Street exit.
 
According to reports, a 2009 Dodge Charger driver traveled at a high rate of speed. As he passed cars on both the inside and outside shoulders, he clipped a 2019 Toyota Land Cruiser.
 
As a result, the Dodge spun into the median, where it struck a dirt embankment and went airborne. Eventually, it landed on its roof on the outside shoulder near the Spring Street off-ramp.
 
Meanwhile, officers confirmed that the driver, a 54-year-old Paso Robles man, succumbed to injuries at the scene. His identity remains undisclosed due to pending family notification.
 
Moreover, officers believed that the driver have potentially been under the influence of alcohol.
 
Furthermore, the crash left the Toyota with minor damage and its occupants suffered no injuries.
