1 Dead in Oakland Hit-and-Run Accident on Bancroft Avenue near 62nd Avenue

 
OAKLAND, CA (January 27, 2022) – Monday, a 31-year-old man died in a Friday night pedestrian crash on Bancroft Avenue near 62nd Avenue.
 
The incident occurred at around 8:00 p.m. in the 6100 block of Bancroft Avenue near 62nd Avenue.
 
According to reports, as the victim walked north on Bancroft Avenue, he went in midblock outside a crosswalk. Then, an eastbound black four-door hatchback vehicle hit him.
 
The driver failed to stop and render aid.
 
Meanwhile, the man sustained grave injuries to his head and required hospitalization. However, he succumbed to his injuries on Monday.
 
At this time, the authorities haven’t disclosed any description of the vehicle or the driver. They last saw the vehicle driving north on 62nd Avenue.
 
Also, the officers haven’t determined whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
