50-Year-Old Driver Dies After Four Vehicles Car Crash on Highway 99
LEBEC, CA (August 8, 2019) – A man died in a multi-car crash on Highway 99 northbound on Thursday afternoon.
The victim was identified as a 50-year-old man. Police did not release his name at this time.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near the 5 Freeway split at approximately 3:15 PM. Based on an initial report, the involved were a Honda Civic, a Nissan Armada, a Honda Accord, and a Honda Odyssey.
An attending coroner declared the man driving the Honda Civic dead on the scene. The paramedics sent at least seven passengers, including two children, in the other vehicles to the hospital. The victims suffered moderate to major injuries.
Northbound lanes were closed except for two lanes as crews continued to investigate the crash. Police did not release any additional information regarding the details at this time.
