One Fatally Injured after Hollister Car Crash on Highway 152
HOLLISTER, CA (October 31, 2019) – A 27-year-old Palo Alto man died after a car crash on Highway 152 on Wednesday, October 30.
According to CHP, at around 6:18 a.m., a 32-year-old Los Banos man drove a Toyota Tundra westbound on the highway east of Lovers Lane. At the same time, the Palo Alto man drove a Toyota Sienna eastbound.
The CHP said that for an undetermined reason, the Sienna crossed the double yellow lines and struck the Tundra. The driver of the Sienna succumbed to his injuries.
Paramedics brought the driver of the Tundra to San Jose Regional Medical Center with major injuries. They also transported his 23-year-old female passenger from Palo Alto to the hospital with minor injuries.
Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash. However, it is still under investigation. Officials shut down Highway 152 in both directions for around three and a half hours as a result of the incident.
Officers urge witnesses to call Officer Amy Tritenbach at 408-848-2324.
