Man Fatally Hurt in Palmdale Car Crash on Rancho Vista Boulevard and Avenue O-8

 
Palmdale, CA (July 29, 2019) – A 27-year-old man died after a car accident on Rancho Vista Boulevard on Wednesday, July 24.
 
The fatal accident happened shortly after 10:20 p.m., at Rancho Vista Boulevard and Avenue O-8.
 
According to reports, a 2012 Toyota Yaris driven by a 29-year-old man traveled east on Rancho Vista Boulevard. There, the Toyota eventually struck a pedestrian crossing the roadway.
 
Based on evidence, the pedestrian was walking outside of the marked crosswalk towards a solid red traffic signal at the time.
 
Paramedics brought the pedestrian to Antelope Valley Hospital for further treatment of life-threatening injuries. However, he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital and was later pronounced dead as a result of the impact.
 
Furthermore, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Officials also conducted a driving under the influence of cannabis investigation pending toxicology results.
 
Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity pending notification of family by coroner’s officials.
