Fatal Shelton Car Accident on Highway 101
SHELTON, WA (July 11, 2019) – A 63-year-old man died in a car accident on Highway 101 on July 10 in Mason County.
Police arrived at the scene around 7:00 a.m. to Highway 101 near Shelton Matlock Road. Trooper Chelsea Hodgson revealed that the Dodge pickup driver lost control while merging onto the highway. The driver then drove across the center-line and hit a Toyota Camry.
Unfortunately, the 63-year-old driver of the Camry died at the scene.
Meanwhile, responders transported the 47-year-old female pickup driver to Mason General Hospital with injuries.
The Washington State Patrol revealed that the pickup driver drove too fast with the condition. However, police are still investigating the car accident on Highway 101.
The incident shut down the northbound lanes of US 101 for several hours.
