Fatal North Las Vegas Car Accident on Carey Avenue
NORTH LAS VEGAS, CA (October 14, 2019) – A person died in a car accident on Carey Avenue on October 12.
The incident occurred just before 3:30 p.m. in the 3300 block of Carey Boulevard, between Simmons Street and Rancho Drive.
Upon the officers’ arrival, they found both drivers with injuries. Responders transported a 44-year-old woman with non-life-threatening injuries and a 66-year-old male driver to UMC Trauma.
Unfortunately, the man died at the hospital.
The North Las Vegas police revealed that the 44-year-old female drove an eastbound black Ford Focus on Carey Boulevard. Meanwhile, the 66-year-old man drove a red Acura sedan and tried to do a left-hand turn onto westbound Carey Boulevard from a private drive.
Reports revealed that the man turned in front of the Ford Focus. However, the 66-year-old man didn’t yield the right way and crashed his Acura into the Ford in the middle of Carey Boulevard.
Authorities ruled out speed and impairment as factors in the crash.
The identity of the deceased remains unreleased due to pending family notification.
