Rider Fatally Hurt after North Hills Bicycle Crash on Rayen Street
NORTH HILLS, CA (October 21, 2019) – A man died following a bicycle crash on Rayen Street in North Hills neighborhood on Friday, October 18.
According to Los Angeles Police Department Lt. Chris Porter, a man in his 50s traveled westbound on his bike. Then he passed a red light and cycled into the intersection of Rayen Street and Woodley Avenue.
A car moving southbound on Woodley Avenue then struck the man at about 8:23 p.m.
The vehicle stopped and the 21-year-old driver tried to give aid. However, a second vehicle ran over the man and fled the area, Porter stated.
Paramedics rushed the man to a hospital where he died, according to the police. His identity was not immediately available.
The vehicle involved in the hit-and-run crash was only described as a black four-door sedan. Any person with information can contact the LAPD Valley Traffic division at 818-644-8000.
