Bicyclist Dies after Collision with Vehicle near Iris Street
OXNARD, CA (March 21, 2019) – A man in his mid-20s lost his life Thursday evening following a bicycle collision on Saviers Road. Authorities did not disclose the identity of the victim.
According to the Oxnard Police Department, the incident happened near Iris Street, at about 10:00 PM. Due to unknown circumstances, the bicyclist entered the path of a southbound 2007 gray Kia Rio. The driver failed to avoid the bicycle and struck the victim.
Emergency responders transported the victim to Ventura County Medical Center for immediate treatment. Unfortunately, the bicyclist succumbed to his serious injuries. Meanwhile, the 18-year-old Kia driver remained and cooperated with investigators.
