1 Dead in San Jose Bicycle Crash on Jackson Avenue and McKee Road
SAN JOSE, CA (August 5, 2021) – Monday night, a man died in a bicycle accident on Jackson Avenue and McKee Road.
The incident occurred at around 11:00 p.m. on North Jackson Avenue. According to reports, it happened as the bicyclist headed north on North Jackson Avenue.
The initial investigation confirmed that the rider traveled against a red light. Then, a 2004 Jeep driver heading west on McKee Road struck him.
After the crash, the Jeep driver remained at the scene. Meanwhile, responders took the man to a local hospital in front of the crash scene. However, the man died Tuesday in the said hospital, the Regional Medical Center.
His identity remains undisclosed due to pending family notification.
Meanwhile, the incident is the city’s 36th traffic death of the year and the fifth involving a bicyclist. Meanwhile, San Jose marked 26 roadway deaths by the same point last year.
