Man Dead, Angel SanchezVega Hurt after Car Accident on Jackson Avenue
HANFORD, CA (August 9, 2019) — A man died following a car crash on Jackson Avenue after he ran a stop sign on Tuesday, August 6.
California Highway Patrol officers rushed to the intersection of Jackson Avenue and 10th Avenue around 2:30 p.m.
Officers found out that a male driver traveled in a van westbound on Jackson Avenue. Then he failed to stop at a stop sign and crashed with a Chevy truck.
Hanford native 47-year-old Angel SanchezVega drove his Chevy truck northbound on 10th Avenue. After that, the two vehicles crashed and traveled onto the dirt shoulder. The van collided into a power pole and both vehicles came to a stop in a field.
The paramedics rushed the driver of the van to Adventist Medical Center Hanford where he later died. They transported SanchezVega to Kaweah Delta Medical Center with moderate injuries.
This collision is still under investigation. It is not yet determined if drugs and/or alcohol were a factor in the incident.
